Timing Gear Cover

Usage:

Remove Timing Gear Cover

start by:

a) remove crankshaft front seal

b) remove engine water pump

c) remove auxiliary water pump

1. Remove the bolts that fasten the oil pan to timing gear cover.

2. Loosen the remaining bolts, for the oil pan and oil pan plate.

3. Lift the front of the engine and install spacers (1) between the oil pan plate and the cylinder block.

4. Remove the engine front supports (4).

5. Remove the remaining fastening bolts (2) for the timing gear cover.

6. Remove the timing gear cover (3).

Install Timing Gear Cover

1. Install a new gasket for the timing gear cover.

2. Put the timing gear cover into position on the engine, and install the fastening bolts.

3. Tighten bolts (1) and nut (2) to 17 ± 3 lb.ft. (2,4 ± 0,3 mkg).

4. Install the front supports for the engine.

5. Lift the front of the engine, and remove the spacers.

NOTE: If the gasket between the oil pan plate and cylinder block was destroyed during disassembly it will be necessary to install a new gasket.

6. Install and tighten the fastening bolts, for the oil pan and oil pan plate.

end by:

a) install auxiliary water pump

b) install engine water pump

c) install crankshaft front seal
