Oil Filter Base

Usage:

Remove Oil Filter Base

1. Drain the oil filter base. Remove the oil filter elements and cases.

2. Remove turbocharger oil supply line (1).

3. Remove the marine gear oil cooler bracket (Marine engine only).

4. Remove oil cooler outlet line elbow (3).

5. Remove oil cooler inlet elbows and pipes (4).

6. Remove six oil filter base mounting nuts (2), and remove the oil filter base.

Install Oil Filter Base

1. Position the oil filter base on the engine, and install the oil filter base mounting nuts.

2. Install the oil cooler oil inlet elbows and pipes.

3. Install the oil cooler oil outlet line elbow.

4. Install the marine gear oil cooler bracket (Marine gear only).

5. Install turbocharger oil supply line.

6. Install oil filter cases and new elements.

Disassemble Oil Filter Base

preparatory step:

a) remove oil filter base

1. Punch a hole in plug (1). Install tool (A) and remove plug (1).

2. Remove the spring and oil filter bypass valve.

3. Install tool (B) and remove retainer (2).

4. Remove the spring and turbocharger bypass valve.

5. Remove the oil cooler bypass valve cover.

6. Remove the spring and oil cooler bypass valve.

Assemble Oil Filter Base

1. Install oil cooler bypass valve (3), spring (2), and cover (1).

2. Install turbocharger bypass valve (5), spring (7), and retainer (9).

3. Install oil filter bypass valve (4), spring (6), and a new plug (8).

a) install oil filter base
