3. Drive out weight retaining pins (4) and remove both weights.

4. Remove piston and rod assembly (5).

5. Remove retaining pins (11), rod (9) and nut (8).

6. Remove spring (10) and valve (7) from piston assembly (6).

Assemble Variable Timing Unit

1. Install valve (3), spring (4) and nut (2) on piston assembly (1).

2. Tighten nut (2) until the distance (X) between bottom face of nut (2) and piston (1) is 1.730 in. (43,9 mm). Drill a .095 ± .002 in. (2,41 ± 0,05 mm) diameter hole through the nut and threaded portion of piston assembly. Install the retaining pin.

3. Install rod (6) tight against the retaining nut (2). Measure .156 in. (3,96 mm) from the top face of nut and this location on rod (6). Drill a .095 ± .002 in. (2,41 ± 0,05 mm) diameter hole (5) through rod (6) and threaded portion of piston assembly at this location. Install the retaining pin.

4. Install piston and rod assembly (7) into the shaft assembly.

5. Install spring (8), retainer (9) and pin (10) in shaft assembly.
