Replacement Of Brush Holder Pins In Delco-Remy Electric Starting Motors{1453}
Usage:
All Products Equipped With 2P2502 Or 4N7902 Electric Starting Motor Groups (Basic)
Many Caterpillar products use the above 24 Volt starting motors, which are made by the Delco-Remy Division of General Motors Corp. The brush holder pin used in these starting motors is different from the 5L8888 Pin (part of 5L8887 Brush Support Assembly) shown in Parts Books. This has caused problems for some dealers and customers when pin replacement becomes necessary.
The correct pin for this application is Delco-Remy Part Number 1851977. Since this pin is not available in the Caterpillar parts system, the recommendation is to order the pin directly from a Delco-Remy dealer in your area.
