Usage:
3306 Natural Gas Engines
Description of Change: A new turbocharger group and two new lines groups are used on 3306 Natural Gas Engines. The new turbocharger has a watercooled bearing housing. The bearings and the bearing housing will be kept at a lower temperature, which will decrease the possibility of carbon deposits on the internal components and passages. This new turbocharger has the same performance specifications as the former turbocharger.
The former turbocharger has had problems with the development of a carbon layer inside the bearing housing. This layer can gradually increase and decrease the flow of oil to the bearings. This oil is then forced out past the seal.
The new oil and water lines groups are necessary because of the new turbocharger.
Adaptable As: The new 2W807 Turbocharger Group, 2W806 Oil Lines Group and 2W805 Water Lines Group, when used together, are direct replacements for the former 7N6111 Turbocharger Group and 8N6107 Oil Lines Group on 3306 Natural Gas Engines (7Y409-Up). The new groups and their components are shown in the chart.

To make this change adaptable to 3306 Natural Gas Engines (7Y1-408) it will be necessary to use a 5P4495 Tee and a 1W9259 Tube Assembly plus the parts shown in the chart. The tee and tube assembly are needed to connect the water line at the cylinder block to the turbocharger.
