Identification Numbers For Caterpillar Partial Machines{0300}
Usage:
Caterpillar sells partial machines to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) for use in their products. These partial machines have their own serial number prefix (5A). The serial number will be on the identification plate next to "Machine-Special". This serial number is the number that dealers must use in all their service reports.
Also, there will be a serial number next to "Ref. No.". This is a reference number that can be used for identification of basic needs for service and parts.
The numbers shown under the heading "Arrangement Number" can be used as reference for any special parts or service needed.
