List Of Main And Connecting Rod Bearings Currently Available{1203,1219,1230,1226,1227}

Usage:

1100 And 3100 Series Engines, 3208 Engines In All Applications

During a period of time, a series of changes have been made to main and connecting rod bearings for the above engines.

For example, the latest change was an increase in the thickness of the lead-tin overlay (layer of surface material) on the bearing surface. This gives better resistance to scuffing (light surface marks or scratches) when the engine is first started and the oil flow rate is low. Other design characteristics of the bearings are not changed.

Since new part numbers are released for each change, the series of bearing changes has caused a sequence of part numbers which can cause problems and/or are not understood correctly when parts must be ordered. For easier reference, and assistance with parts information, the charts that follow show the last three bearing part numbers for each size and type of bearing used in these engines. The numbers are shown in sequence, with the latest bearing part number in Column One, and the earlier part numbers in Columns Two and Three, respectively. Any of the part numbers shown are acceptable for use in engines, and several of the earlier bearings are still available in the parts system. Those which are canceled and no longer available are shown in the chart footnotes.
