ACTION REQUIRED
Refer to M0099883, Service Magazine, "An Improved Rear Pump Drive bolt used on Certain 994K wheel Loaders", to complete this Rework Procedure. BEFORE FAILURE: 1. Remove the existing 4832035/">483-2035 Bolt from the upper idler shaft. Refer to Image1. 2. Install a new 4832035/">483-2035 Bolt (black in color), O-ring seal, and washer into the idler shaft. Tighten the bolt to a specified torque of 100 +/- 10 N.m. NOTE: Do not over tighten the bolt. Over tightening will lead to early failure of the bolt. AFTER FAILURE: 1. Remove the remaining portion of the bolt from the bore WITHOUT removing the upper idler shaft. NOTE: Using bolt extractors or left handed drill bits, with extensions, can aid in the removal of the failed portion of the bolt. The upper idler shaft has a heavy press fit into the housing, so removing and installing it requires special procedures. IMPORTANT: If the shaft is removed to obtain the failed portion of the bolt, the shaft must be frozen to -35 degrees Celsius (-30 degrees Fahrenheit) to reduce the press fit during installation. Once installed, the shaft must be allowed to warm to +/- 8 degrees Celsius or +/- 15 degrees Fahrenheit of room temperature before installing and tightening the bolt. NOTE: IF the bolt is used to assist with the installation of the frozen idler shaft, the bolt should be removed. The bolt should not be reused. In this case, 2. Install a new 4832035/">483-2035 Bolt (black in color), and tightened to specification. Refer to M0071310, Disassembly and Assembly, "Pump Drive - Rear", for additional information. |
