Cab Heater Efficiency Improved{7304}

Usage:

515 (4LR),
525 (1DN) Wheel Skidders

Description of Change: Cab heater efficiency may be improved by adding a valve in the transmission cooler to radiator shunt line.

Adaptable To: The shunt line valve is adaptable to first production for the 515 (4LR) and 525 (1DN) Wheel Skidders.

Shunt line (1) allows limited flow from the top of the transmission cooler to the radiator. This flow is utilized to purge air when the cooling system is filled. In extremely cold weather, this limited flow through the radiator could prevent the engine from achieving normal operating temperature. Adding a valve to close the shunt line will eliminate this flow and allow the engine to achieve normal operating temperatures and improve heater efficiency. When the radiator is filled, the valve may be manually opened to purge air from the system. Close the valve in extreme cold weather conditions.
