Grapple Rotator Motor Joint Strengthened{5082,6307}

Usage:

515 (4LR),
525 (1DN) Wheel Skidders

Description of Change: The integrity of the bolted joint for the grapple rotator motor has been improved. Longer bolts are used along with hardened washers. In addition to the bolt change, the motor flange is spotfaced.

Adaptable To: The improved grapple rotator motor bolted joint is effective with 515 (4LR354) and 525 (1DN1010) Wheel Skidders. This change is also adaptable to first production for the machines listed by using the following procedure.

Procedure for Spot Facing Grapple Rotator Motor Flange

1. Spotface grapple rotator motor flange (1), in four places (3).

2. Use a 29.54 mm (1.163 in) diameter spotface (A). Machine the flange to a thickness of 15.11 mm (.595 in).

3. Replace the former 8T-4139 Bolts (not canceled), with four longer 8T-4956 Bolts (2) and 8T-4223 Hard Washers.

4. Tighten the 8T-4956 Bolts to a torque of 88.5 N·m (65 lb ft).
