Longer Bosses Increase Blade Assembly Service Life{5057,6060,6051,6071,7167}

Usage:

D6H (8KB, 4RC, 6FC, 7PC, 8FC, 8YC, 1KD, 2KD, 3ED, 7ED, 3ZF, 4YF, 5HF, 6CF, 2TG, 3YG, 4GG, 4LG, 1FJ, 3YJ, 6JJ, 2DK, 8SK, 9RK) Track-Type Tractors

Description of Change: A longer boss replaces the lug on blade assemblies. The tilt lines guard assembly could interfere with the tilt hose assembly, causing the tilt cylinder hoses to flex. The flexing hoses could induce pressure on the lugs, causing the lugs to break.

The affected blade assemblies are the following: 8E-2270 Blade Assembly, 8E-5187 Blade Assembly, 8E-5204 Blade Assembly, and 8E-9326 Blade Assembly.

Adaptable To: The 6H-3609 Boss is a direct replacement for the 6J-0499 Lug. The change is adaptable to all D6H Track-Type Tractors with 6S, 6SU, and 6S LGP Bulldozers.

The length of the former 6J-0499 Lug is 19 mm (.75 in), and the length of the new 6H-3609 Boss is 22 mm (.87 in).

Earlier blades can be adapted by cutting the existing lugs off the back of the blade and welding new bosses in place using a low hydrogen electrode. An alternative is to use a 5P-8245 Washer to space the guard out at each of the three mounting bolts.
