New Sight Gauge Replaces Former Dip Stick For Improved Visibility Of The Front Implement Hydraulic Tank Oil Level{7479}

Usage:

994 (9YF) Wheel Loaders

Description of Change: A new sight gauge is used to check the hydraulic oil level in the hydraulic tank. This makes checking the hydraulic oil level easier. Formerly a dip stick was used. The sight gauge also helps prevent hydraulic oil from escaping the system if the dip stick is not installed or installed correctly. This change will improve serviceability and the maintenance of the implement hydraulic oil level.

Adaptable To: The 131-6443 Tank Assembly is effective with 994 (9YF116) Wheel Loader. The former tank assembly is adaptable to all earlier machines with the addition of the sight gauge. Refer to the chart for the parts needed and Illustration 1 and Illustration 2 to retrofit the former tank assembly for installation of the sight gauge to the side of the Non-Engine End Frame (NEEF).

3. Refer to Chart B and Illustration 3 for the procedure to cut former dip stick tube assembly (43) to correct length.

Illustration 4. View B-B bottom of tank assembly.

4. Refer to Chart C and Illustration 4 for the location of the drilled hole and weld position of 4J-5050 Boss (41).

5. Use a 1 19/32 inch magnetic drill to drill a the hole in the bottom of the tank assembly. Weld 4J-5050 Boss to the drilled hole with a 5.0 mm (.20 in) fillet weld.

6. Clean out tank assembly thoroughly before replacing the front cover.

7. Refer to Chart D and Illustration 5 for the location of the weld position of 9C-7863 Block (42) on the Non Engine End Frame Assembly (NEEF).

8. Refer to Chart A, Illustration 1 and Illustration 2 to complete the installation of the filler cap, hose assembly, clips, flanges, etc.

9. Refill the hydraulic tank and inspect for leaks.
