Rear Axle Oil Level Raised To Improve Axle Lubrication{3013}

Usage:

515 (4LR),
525 (1DN) Wheel Skidders

Description of Change: The oil level in the rear axle has been raised. Axles are now being filled to the top of the axle shaft housing to improve axle lubrication.

Adaptable To: The 126-1449 Gauge Assembly (Dip Stick) has been changed to reflect the increased oil fill level. This change is effective with 515 (4LR279), and 525 (1DN926) Wheel Skidders. This change is also adaptable to first production for the machines listed.

To adapt this change to existing machines, discard the existing 126-1449 Gauge Assembly (Dip Stick) and install a new 126-1449 Gauge Assembly (Dip Stick). Be sure to fill the axle housing to the correct level.

NOTE: On 515 and 525 Wheel Skidders equipped with mechanical winches, the winch shares lubrication oil with the axle. During machine operation, the winch will accumulate oil. To ensure an accurate reading of the axle oil level, allow 15 minutes for the oil to drain back to the axle housing before checking the axle oil level.
