Description of Change: A new shaft assembly and a new sleeve bearing prevent seizing due to galling in the 124-0554 Speed and Direction Control Group.
Adaptable To: The new 139-4077 Shaft Assembly replaces the former 124-0572 Shaft Assembly and a new 3B-3911 Needle Bearing replaces the former 124-0571 Sleeve Bearing. This change is effective with the 953C (2ZN0572) Track-Type Loader and adaptable to earlier machines with the following procedure.
124-0554 Speed and Direction Control Group. (1) 3B-3911. (2) 139-4077 Shaft Assembly.
1. Remove the former 139-4077 Shaft Assembly.
2. Remove the former 124-0571 Sleeve Bearing.
3. Replace the shaft assembly and sleeve bearing.
4. Check or pack grease in the new 3B-3911 Needle Bearing (1) before installing it with the new 139-4077 Shaft Assembly (2).
NOTE: If no shaft assembly and needle bearing are available, remove the 124-0568 Cover and remove burrs (high spots). Polish the 124-0571 Sleeve Bearing and the 124-0572 Shaft Assembly, grease both parts, and reassemble.
