Usage:
525 (1DN) Wheel Skidders
Description of Change: Several design improvements have been made to the decking blade and the blade's support structure. The cell structure of the decking blade has been stiffened, and the torque boxes have been strengthened to increase blade durability. Tubular beam construction is also used for the push arms. These changes will improve the service life of the decking blade under normal operating conditions.
Also, the location of the trunnions for the decking blade have been moved forward on the frame. This change will allow for the additional clearance that is needed for the thicker bearing caps that are now used. The thicker bearing caps use four bolts to secure them in place. Previously, lighter duty bearing caps and two bolts were used.
Adaptable To: This change is effective with 525 (1DN980-Up) Wheel Skidders, and is not adaptable to earlier machines.
(1) Typical locations of the improved blade cell structure. (2) Locations of the four bolts used on each bearing cap. (3) Locations of the thicker bearing caps. (4) Push arms made with heavier tubular beam steel. (5) Locations of the stronger torque boxes.
