Usage:
A change has been made to the 5P3508 Torque Multiplier to prevent a lock up problem. When all the tolerances of the parts in the 5P3508 Multiplier are added, the 5P4736 Directional Ring can lock up against the 6V1366 Retainer Ring. Torque multipliers with a "C" prefix do not have this problem. All multipliers with a serial number prefix of "A" or "B" can be changed to the new "C" design. To do this, install a new 6V4839 Cap. The new cap has a counterbore for installation of a snap ring. See the illustration. The part number of the cap did not change. A 15600 Snap Ring must be installed and the former 6V1366 Retaining Ring removed. Special Instruction, Form SMHS8034, gives disassembly and assembly instructions.
