Usage:
New 31 and 55 ton center hole hydraulic cylinders and an external relief valve assembly are available. The 6V3160, 6V3170 and 6V3175 Hydraulic Cylinders are of a different design with a relief valve in the rod end of the cylinder. This relief valve prevents an increase in pressure at the rod end, caused by a restriction (blockage) of the return oil to the pump. The relief valve setting is 72 450 kPa (10,500 psi). When there is too much pressure, the operator can see the oil drops released through the relief valve.
A 6V3176 Cylinder Relief Valve Assembly is available for use on cylinders without a relief valve. It can be added to the rod end of any center hole, two way (double acting) cylinder, which is rated for 69 000 kPa (10,000 psi) operation. The 6V3176 Valve is optional and can be added for extra protection against overloads caused by a restriction in the return oil flow.
The specifications for the hydraulic cylinders are shown in Chart A. The new 6V3160, 6V3170, and 6V3175 Cylinder Groups are direct replacements for the former 7F9540, 5P2997, and 5P2998 Puller Assemblies. The former puller assemblies have been canceled.
The service parts for the cylinder groups are shown in Chart B.
