NOTE: | This Program must be administered either before or after failure. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS45896" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description code. If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code. |

PROBLEM
The existing hydraulic tube can fail on certain 12M, 12M 3, 14L, 140M, 140M 3, 160M, and 160M 3 Motor Graders. If the tube fails it can cause a loss of hydraulic functions. |

PARTS DISPOSITION
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling. |
Rework Procedure Prepare the Machine Note: Permit only one person on the machine. Either keep others away from the machine, or keep other personnel in the sight of the operator. 1. Move the machine to a smooth horizontal location. Move away from any machines that are working and any personnel. 2. Move the transmission control to the NEUTRAL position. 3. Activate the parking brake. 4. Place blocks in front of the wheels and behind the wheels. 5. Stop the engine and allow the engine to cool. 6. Release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Refer to your machines Operation and Maintenance Manual for instructions. 7. Turn battery disconnect switch to the OFF position. 8. Release the hydraulic system pressure. Reference: Refer to the Disassembly and Assembly, ?Machine Preparation for Disassembly and Assembly?. 9. Remove the guards from the machine. Reference: Refer to the Disassembly and Assembly, "Guards - Remove and Install". 10. Install the vacuum cap tool (A) to the hydraulic tank. |

11. Remove the cover from the rear valve bank. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly ?Bank Valve ? Remove ? Front Frame?. 12. Put identification marks on all hoses and electrical connections for installation purposes. Plug all hoses in order to reduce fluid leakage and contamination. 13. Remove the existing pilot tube (B), centershift hose (C), and adapters (D) from the manifold. Discard the tube, hose, and adapters. |

14. Install 3J-1907 O-Ring (2) and 6V-8397 O-Ring (3) to 6V-9001 Adapter (1). |

15. Install 3K-0360 O-Ring (5) and 6V-8398 O-Ring (6) to 8T-1687 Adapter (4). |

16. Install 6V-8398 O-Ring (8) to 6V-9851 Adapter (7). |

17. Install 6V-9001 Adapter (1) into the port for the centershift pin puller. Orientate the adapter to 45? (D1) as shown in Image 1.6.2. |

18. Install 8T-1687 Adapter (4) into the port for the pilot hose. |

19. Install 6V-9851 Adapter (7) to 8T-1687 Adapter (4). |

20. Connect 542-4798 Hose (10) to 6V-9851 Adapter (7). Install 7J-9108 O-Ring (9) to 542-4798 Hose (10), then connect the hose to the rear valve bank |

21. Connect 542-4799 Hose (11) to 6V-9001 Adapter (1) and to the centershift pin puller. |

22. Remove the vacuum cap tool from the hydraulic tank. 23. Check the oil level in the hydraulic system. Add oil if necessary to maintain the proper oil level. 24. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position. 25. Start the machine and let the hydraulic oil level stabilize. Verify the machine has the proper hydraulic oil level. 26. Check the hoses, pilot manifold, and the rear valve bank for leaks. If any leaks are found, correct the issue and recheck for leaks. 27. Shut off the machine. 28. Install the cover to the rear valve bank. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly ?Bank Valve ? Install ? Front Frame?. |
