NOTE: | This Program must be administered as soon as possible. When reporting the repair, use "PI32471" as the Part Number and "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description code. Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI32471" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code. |

PROBLEM
The boom needs to be inspected on certain MH3049 Material Handlers. The existing boom may develop cracks near or on the welds where the side plate is welded to the bottom plate. |

ACTION REQUIRED
Park the machine on a level surface and lower all implements to the ground. Before completing the inspection, review the safety section in the Operation and Maintenance Manual for the machine. Clean away any grease or debris from indicated area on the boom. Visually inspect both side plates, both doubler plates, the bottom plate, and all welds for any cracks. Focus on areas within 12 inches of the end of welds as shown. If any cracks are found, please take pictures and work through your Dealer TC to submit a DSN service request with the pictures attached for additional service technical support at Caterpillar. |
