The turbochargers on certain G3500 engines have failed due to issues not related to materials or workmanship of the turbocharger. Oil supply contamination, foreign object damage, and turbo surge causing thrust bearing wear have been associated with failures. Further troubleshooting and inspection of the turbocharger is necessary to determine the root cause of the failure.
