Governor And Governor Drive

Usage:

Remove Governor And Governor Drive As A Unit

1. Remove the governor control linkage (2) from the governor.

2. Remove the governor oil supply line (3).

3. Remove the governor drive mounting nuts (1).

4. Remove the governor and governor drive from the engine.

Install Governor And Governor Drive As A Unit

1. Install the governor and governor drive (1) on the engine.

2. Install the governor drive fastening nuts.

3. Install the governor oil supply line.

4. Install the governor control linkage on the governor.

Separation Of Governor From Governor Drive

start by:

a) remove governor and governor drive as a unit

1. Remove the idle screw cover (1) from the governor housing.

2. Remove the stop collar fastening screw.

3. Remove the stop collar (4), collar (3) and spring (2).

4. Remove the bolts that fasten the governor to the governor drive housing.

5. Remove the governor housing (7).

6. Remove the governor spring (8), seat assembly (6) and washer type spring (5).

7. Remove the three bolts and lock that hold the cylinder and weight assembly (9) to the governor drive housing.

8. Pull the cylinder and weight assembly straight out to clear the locating dowels.

9. Move the cylinder and weight assembly to the side to disconnect the piston from the shaft.

Connection Of Governor To Governor Drive

1. Install the cylinder and weight assembly (2) on the governor drive housing. Be sure to make the connection between the groove in the piston and the shaft (1).

2. Push the cylinder and weight assembly onto the locating dowels and install the bolts (3) and lock.

3. Install the washer type spring (4), governor spring (6) and seat assembly (5) on the cylinder.

4. Install the governor housing (8) on the governor drive housing and install the bolts (7).

5. Install the spring (9) and collar, and stop collar (11).

6. Install the stop collar fastening screw (10).

7. Install the idle screw cover (12).

end by:

a) install governor and governor drive as a unit

b) make adjustments to the governor. See GOVERNOR ADJUSTMENTS in TESTING AND ADJUSTING
