Usage:
NOTE: Photos shown are of a D348 Marine Engine.
NOTE: Do Steps 3 and 4 only for the industrial engine.
1. Disconnect line (1) at adapter (3).
2. Remove four bolts (2), adapter (3) and the gasket.
3. Disconnect two lines (5) and line (6) from the transfer pump.
4. Remove two bolts (4), transfer pump (7) and the gasket.
Install Fuel Transfer Pump (Later Engine)
NOTE: Photos shown are of a D348 Marine Engine.
NOTE: Do Steps 1 and 3 only for the industrial engine.
1. Put gasket (2) and fuel transfer pump (1) in position. Install the bolts that hold the pump in place.
2. Connect line (4) to the bottom of the transfer pump.
3. Connect lines (3) to the transfer pump.
4. Put the gasket in place and install adapter (5) and the bolts that hold the adapter to the regulator housing.
5. Connect line (6) to the top of the adapter.
Disassemble Fuel Transfer Pump (Later Engine)
start by:
a) remove fuel transfer pump (later engine)
1. Remove bolts (1) and cover (2) from the pump.

Be careful not to damage the contact surfaces of the cover and pump body. |
2. Remove retaining ring (3) from the shaft.
3. Remove gear (4) and gear and shaft assembly (5) from the pump body.
4. Remove cage (6) from the pump body.
5. Use tool (A) to remove bearing (7) and the two seals from the cage. Remove O-ring seals (8) from the cage.
6. Remove bearing (9) from the pump body.
Assemble Fuel Transfer Pump (Later Engine)
1. Clean all parts thoroughly before assembly.
2. Use tooling (B) to install bearing (1) in the pump body. Install the bearing so it does not extend above the inside surface of the pump body.
3. Use tooling (A) to install the bearing in cage (2) so the end that has a taper will be toward the seals.
4. Use tooling (B) to install the seals in the cage with the lips in the position shown. Install the O-ring seals on the cage. Put clean oil on the lips of the seals, the bearing and the O-ring seals.
5. Install cage (2) in the pump body as shown.
6. Install gear (4) and gear and shaft assembly (3) in the pump body.
7. Put a thin layer of No. 3 Permatex on the face of the pump body.

Do not let the Permatex get in the pump. |
8. Put cover (5) in position on the pump body and install the bolts that hold it in place.
NOTE: The pump shaft must turn freely after the cover is installed.
