Water Temperature Regulators And Housing (Later Industrial Engine)

Usage:

Remove Water Temperature Regulators And Housing (Later Industrial Engine)

1. Drain the cooling system. Remove the radiator top water lines.

2. Disconnect vent line (1) from the front elbow. Remove four bolts (2).

3. Fasten tooling (A) and a hoist to the water temperature regulator housing.

4. Remove bolts (3) on top. Remove bolts (4) on the bottom. Remove the water temperature regulator housing. Weight is approximately 60 lb. (27 kg).

5. Remove vent line (5) from the elbow.

6. Remove elbows (6) from the regulator housing.

7. Remove bolts (7). Remove the cover from the regulator housing.

8. Remove water temperature regulators (8) from the housing.

9. Remove seals (9) for the regulators from the housing.

Install Water Temperature Regulators And Housing (Later Industrial Engine)

1. Use tooling (B) to install the seals in the regulator housing with the lip in as shown.

2. Install water temperature regulators (1) in the housing as shown.

3. Put the gasket and cover (2) in position on the regulator housing and install the bolts that hold them in place.

4. Put the gaskets and elbows (3) in position on the regulator housing and install the bolts that hold them in place.

5. Connect vent line (4) to the elbow.

6. Fasten tooling (A) and a hoist to the water temperature regulator housing. Put the gasket and regulator housing in position on the engine and install the top two bolts in the housing. Weight of the water temperature regulator housing is approximately 60 lb. (27 kg).

7. Install the bottom two bolts (5) in the housing.

8. Install bolts (7) that hold the elbow to the front of the regulator housing.

9. Connect vent line (6) to the front elbow.

10. Install the top radiator lines.

11. Fill the cooling system.

Remove Water Temperature Regulators And Housing (Later Marine Engine)

1. Drain the jacket water cooling system.

2. Remove brace (1).

3. Remove the bolts that hold adapters (2) on both aftercoolers. Remove both adapters and tubes (3) as a unit.

4. Remove the bolts that hold both elbows (4) to the expansion tank and remove the elbows.

5. Remove bolts (5) and cover (6) from the water temperature regulator housing.

6. Remove water temperature regulators (7) from the regulator housing.

7. Remove bolts (8) and elbow (9) from the right end of the regulator housing.

8. Disconnect vent line (10) from elbow (11). Remove elbow (11) from the left end of the regulator housing.

9. Remove two bolts (12).

10. Remove two bolts (13). Remove regulator housing (14) from the engine.

11. Use tooling (A) to remove seals (15) from the regulator housing.
