Usage:
1. Remove fuel transfer pump fuel inlet line (2) and priming pump fuel outlet line (6). Disconnect the drain line (4).
2. Disconnect bleed line (3) from the transfer pump, and remove the bleed line clamp mounting bolt.
3. Disconnect fuel outlet line (5) from the transfer pump.
4. Remove the two pump mounting bolts (1), and remove the fuel transfer pump.
Install Fuel Transfer Pump (Earlier Engine)
1. Put fuel transfer pump (1) in position on the engine and install the two mounting bolts.
2. Install the pump inlet line and the fuel priming pump outlet line. Connect the transfer pump fuel outlet line to the pump.
3. Connect the bleed line to the pump, and install the clamp mounting bolt. Connect the drain line to the pump.
Disassemble Fuel Transfer Pump (Earlier Engine)
start by:
a) remove fuel transfer pump
1. Remove the fuel transfer pump cover assembly mounting bolts.
2. Remove cover assembly (1).

Be careful not to damage the contact surfaces of the cover assembly and pump body. |
3. Remove plug (4). Remove bypass valve plunger (2) and spring (3) from cover (1).
4. Remove the retaining pin from shaft assembly (6).
5. Remove gear and shaft assembly (6) and gear (5) from the body assembly.
6. Remove cage assembly (7) from the body assembly.
7. Remove the carbon seal and washer from the cage assembly.
8. Use tool (A) and remove the bearing, lip type seal and retainer from the cage.
9. Remove the O-ring seals from the cage and the retainer.
10. Remove the bearing from the body assembly.
Assemble Fuel Transfer Pump (Earlier Engine)
1. Clean all parts thoroughly before assembly.
2. Use tool (A) and install bearing (1) in cage (5).
3. Use tooling (B) and install lip type seal (2) in the cage with the lip of the seal toward the pump end of the cage.
4. Put lubrication on the O-ring seal and install O-ring seal (4) on retainer (3).
5. Install retainer (3) in the cage assembly.
6. Put lubricant on the O-ring seals and install the O-ring seals on cage assembly (5).
7. Use tool (A) and install the bearing in body assembly (6).
8. Install the washer in the body assembly.
9. Put a thin film of clean oil to the inside diameter of the inner rubber ring of the carbon seal.
10. Put a thin film of clean oil to the wear face of the carbon seal.
11. Put the carbon seal in position on body assembly, and install cage assembly (5).
12. Install the gear and shaft assembly and gear in the body assembly. Install retaining pin.
13. Put a thin layer of 7M7260 Liquid Gasket Material on the face of the body assembly.

Do not permit sealant to enter pump. |
14. Install the cover assembly and the bolts that hold it in place.
NOTE: The shaft assembly must turn freely after the bolts are tightened.
15. Install the bypass valve plunger, spring and plug.
