Water Temperature Regulators And Housings (Earlier)

Usage:

Remove Water Temperature Regulators And Housings (Earlier Industrial Engine)

1. Drain the cooling system.

2. Remove bolts (1) that hold the elbow on the left regulator cover. Remove bolts (10) that hold the box on the right regulator cover. Remove the box, pipe and elbow as a unit.

3. Remove vent line (4) for the left aftercooler.

4. Remove water inlet elbow (6) and sleeve assembly (5) from the left aftercooler. Remove bolt (3) from the fuel line clamp.

5. Remove the bolts that hold the cover on the left water temperature regulator. Remove cover (2) and the water temperature regulators. Remove the regulators from the left cover.

6. Remove vent line (8) from the right aftercooler. Remove water inlet elbow (11) and sleeve assembly (9) from the right aftercooler. Remove bolts (12) that hold the elbow to the cover.

7. Remove the bolts that hold the right water temperature regulator cover in place. Remove cover (7) and the water temperature regulators. Remove the regulators from the right cover.

Install Water Temperature Regulators And Housings (Earlier Industrial Engine)

1. Install the regulators in the right cover. Put the cover in position and install the bolts that hold it in place.

2. Install the bolts that hold the elbow to the cover. Install the sleeve assembly and the right aftercooler water inlet elbow.


NOTICE

Be sure the drain hole in the sleeve assembly is down.


3. Install the right aftercooler vent line.

4. Install the regulators in the left cover. Put the cover in position and install the bolts that hold it in place.

5. Install the bolt that holds the clamp on the fuel line. Install the sleeve assembly and the left aftercooler water inlet elbow.


NOTICE

Be sure the drain hole in the sleeve assembly is down.


6. Install the left aftercooler vent line.

7. Put the box, pipe and elbow in position on the engine. Install the mounting bolts in the left and right regulator covers.

8. Fill the cooling system.

Remove Water Temperature Regulators And Housings (Earlier Marine Engine)

1. Drain the jacket water cooling system.

2. Remove vent line (1).

3. Remove water outlet elbow (2) and pipe (3) from the water temperature regulator housing.

4. Remove front water outlet line (4) from the right exhaust manifold.

5. Remove water bypass line (5) from the water temperature regulator housing.

6. Remove the aftercooler sea water outlet line (6).

7. Remove sleeve assembly (7) from the right aftercooler.

8. Remove bolts (8) that hold the right water temperature regulator housing in place.

9. Remove right water temperature regulator housing (9).

10. Remove regulators (10) from the right housing.

11. Remove left aftercooler sea water outlet line (11).

12. Remove front water outlet line (12) from the left exhaust manifold.

13. Remove the bolts that hold the left water temperature regulator housing in place. Remove left water temperature regulator housing (13).

14. Remove the regulators from the left housing.

Install Water Temperature Regulators And Housing (Earlier Marine Engine)

1. Install the water temperature regulators in the left housing.

2. Put the left water temperature regulator housing (1) in position on the engine and install the bolts that hold it in place.

3. Install the front water outlet line on the left exhaust manifold.

4. Install the left aftercooler sea water outlet line.

5. Install the water temperature regulators in the right housing.

6. Put the right water temperature regulator housing in position on the engine and install the bolts that hold it in place.

7. Install sleeve assembly (2) in the right aftercooler.


NOTICE

Be sure the drain hole in the sleeve assembly is down.


8. Install the sea water outlet line on the aftercooler.

9. Install bypass line (3) on the water temperature regulator housing.

10. Install the front water outlet line on the right exhaust manifold.

11. Install water outlet elbow (4) and pipe (5) on the water temperature regulator housing.

12. Install the expansion tank vent line.

13. Fill the jacket water cooling system.
