Usage:
Fluid Spillage Containment
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to "Tools And Shop Products Guide", NENG2500 for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines. Dispose fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
1. Disconnect the wiring harness from the fuel shutoff solenoid.
2. Using Tool (A), remove the fuel shutoff solenoid from the governor.
3. Remove the O-ring seal from the fuel shutoff solenoid.
NOTE: The following steps are for the installation of the fuel shutoff solenoid.
4. Check the condition of the O-ring seal used on the fuel shutoff solenoid. If the seal is damaged, use a new part for replacement. Install the O-ring seal on the fuel shutoff solenoid.
5. Install the fuel shutoff solenoid in the governor. Using Tool (A) and a suitable torque wrench, tighten the fuel shutoff solenoid to a torque of 30 ± 5 N·m (22 ± 4 lb ft).
6. Connect the wiring harness to the fuel shutoff solenoid.
