Usage:
Start By:
a. remove radiator support assembly
b. remove cab
Fluid Spillage Containment
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to "Tools And Shop Products Guide", NENG2500 for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines. Dispose fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
1. Disconnect cables (1) and (3) from starter.
2. Remove bolt and wire clip (2).
3. Disconnect hose (4).
4. Disconnect hose assemblies (5) and (6).
5. Disconnect hydraulic hose assembly (7).
6. Disconnect hose assemblies (8), (9) and (10).
7. Disconnect hose assemblies (11), (12) and (13).
8. Disconnect suction hose (14).
9. Disconnect hose assembly (15).
10. Disconnect wiring harness (16).
11. Remove bolt and wire clip (17).
12. Disconnect starting aid line (18).
13. Disconnect fuel lines (19) and (20).
14. Loosen clamp (22) and remove hose (21).
15. Loosen hose clamp (23) and remove heater hose (24).
16. Remove rear engine mounting bolts (25).
17. Remove left front engine mounting bolt (26).
18. Remove right front engine mounting bolt (27).
19. Remove right and left side hood mounts (28).
20. Attach a hoist to the engine as shown. Remove the engine and pump assembly. Weight of the engine is 816 kg (1795 lb).
NOTE: Install engine in reverse order.
21. Tighten engine mounting bolts to a torque of 360 ± 50 N·m (265 ± 35 lb ft)
