Through development, the reliability of the cooling system for certain industrial engines was improved by the removal of an elbow. The modification was validated at a significant site of a Caterpillar customer.
This modification is approved only for the above engines in industrial applications that have the 162-7667 Engine Arrangement .
Note: The modification simulates the routing of the jacket water for the 3516B Industrial Engine ( (S/N: CAN)).
The following modification to the cooling system is optional.

For the modification, the parts that are identified in Illustration 1 are removed.
