7155 Transmissions
Description of Change: Improved poppet valves are used in the plate and valve assembly of the transmission control group for 7155 Transmissions. The regulator valve is now held on the stem of the poppet valve with a pin (see Illustration 1). Also, the fifty four poppet valves which have a piston on one end are held together differently. The end of the poppet valve stem is peened (bent) over the piston to keep it in position (see Illustration 2).
Formerly, these components were held together with a press fit, and it was possible for the piston to work loose on the valve stem.
Adaptable To: The new parts used together are a direct replacement for the former parts as shown in the chart.
