6V3071 Seal Guide Keeps Seal In Position During Installation Of Transfer Pump {0620,1256}

Usage:

SUPPLEMENT: 10/20/80

SERVICE MAGAZINE, SEPTEMBER 22, 1980, PAGE 1. In the article "6V3071 Seal Guide Keeps Seal In Position During Installation Of Transfer Pump", change the last word in the first paragraph from "crankshaft" to "camshaft".

--------------- END SUPPLEMENT ---------------

The inside seal in sleeve metering fuel system transfer pumps now has a molded lip, instead of the former cut lip. The lip on the new seal some times releases the spring from the seal when it is pushed over the edge of the camshaft.

The 6V3071 Seal Guide prevents this inside seal from twisting inside out (to twist wrong side out) during installation of the transfer pump.
