6V3025 Battery Cable Repair Kit Now Available{1402,1408,0611}

Usage:

Heavy 8 gauge through 0000 gauge electrical cables are used in many applications in off-highway equipment, on-highway trucks, and electric set installations.

To make repairs on a cable generally means removal of the cable for repairs at a bench press, installation of a new cable or immediate repairs made to the cable while in the field. Removal of the cable takes time, and replacement cables have a high cost. Immediate repairs made to cables while in the field generally do not have an acceptable service life.

The 6V3025 Battery Cable Repair Kit is available for dealers and customers to use during repairs of cables and when cables are fabricated. The 6V3025 Battery Cable Repair Kit is made up of the parts which follow:

The 6V3021 Crimping Tool has multiple (more than one) dies which permits use of the tool on different sizes of cable and splices. The 6V3022 Cable Cutter can cut up to 500 MCM copper or aluminum cable. The butt splices are in individual packages, and each comes with a piece of heat shrink insulation. Battery and lug-type terminals are available from the parts department.

Special Instruction, Form No. SMHS7677 has detailed instructions on how to use the kit to make good repairs and fabricated cables. The 6V3025 Battery Cable Repair Kit can be used to put splices or terminals on any 8 gauge through 0000 gauge cable. Correctly done, the connections meet Caterpillar and SAE specifications.
