An earlier article "Connecting Rod Changes And Replacement Information" on Page 4 of the March 3, 1980 Service Magazine gave an explanation of the three different types of connecting rods used in 3406, 3408, and 3412 Engines, and which types to use for replacement.

This article gives a list of the pistons used with the different connecting rod assemblies in the above engines. This list can be used as a reference in selection of the correct parts for service replacement.
