This Special Instruction provides the information that is necessary to install the 258-2472 Cab Window Kit on the listed machines.

Do not begin installation of this kit until you read the information that is contained in this instruction.

Work safely. Most accidents that involve product operation, maintenance, and repair are caused by failure to observe basic safety rules or precautions. An accident can often be avoided by recognizing potentially hazardous situations before an accident occurs. A person must be alert to potential hazards. This person should also have the necessary training, skills, and tools in order to perform these functions properly.

Note: If you are installing the 258-2472 Cab Window Kit with the 280-6077 Heater Installation Kit , the 258-2474 Air Conditioner and Heater Installation Kit , or the 280-6079 Air Conditioner and Heater Installation Kit , heed the following instructions in order to facilitate the installation.

  • These kits require the installation of electrical controls in the right control panel as well as the routing of the electrical harness behind the headliner. In order for you to maneuver the harness into position behind the headliner, the edges of the headliner must be free. The presence of the right window frame will make this activity much more difficult. Install the electrical harness before you install the right window frame.

  • These kits also require the installation of duct assemblies in the front of the cab. In order for you to install the window frames inside the cab, the duct assemblies cannot be in place. Therefore, install the window frames before you install the duct assemblies.
