New Radios Extend Beyond the Face of the Console{7338}

Introduction

The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until the permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.

Problem

The radio bracket assembly that is installed on the E series Backhoe loaders will not fully accommodate the new radios. The new radios have a depth of 160 mm (6.30 inch). The radio bracket assembly will only accommodate a depth of 150 mm (6 inch). The radio bracket assembly was originally designed for the radios that were installed in the D Series Backhoe Loader.

Solution

DIN trim rings may be used in order to seat the mating face of the radio against the face of the console. Caterpillar part numbers are not available for the DIN trim rings. DIN trim rings must be purchased from an outside supplier. The following Caterpillar radios that are listed below with a depth of 160 mm (6.30 inch) will require DIN trim rings.
