Truck Payload - Calibrate

Usage:

770 BZZ
The payload system must be calibrated if the VIMSpc software is used to assign a new serial number to the VIMS/TPMS electronic control module (ECM). The Truck Payload Measurement System (TPMS) must also be calibrated after the replacement of the VIMS/TPMS ECM, the suspension cylinders, the suspension cylinder pressure sensors, etc.

The following information describes the service operation of the calibration for the truck payload. The service operation uses the following procedure in order to calibrate the VIMS TPMS:

Note: The VIMS TPMS will not operate until a successful payload calibration has been completed.

Security

  1. This service program code only functions while the service tool (VIMSpc) is connected.

  2. After the service tool (VIMSpc) is disconnected for 30 seconds, this service program code will no longer be active.

Procedure

  1. Ensure that the truck body is empty. Carryback weight will affect the payload measurement.

  2. Manually calibrate the payload system by pressing the "OK" button. The "OK" button is located in the Payload Calibration menu option.

  3. Operate the empty truck to a minimum ground speed of four MPH on hard level ground.

  4. Move the transmission gear selector to the neutral position and allow the truck to coast to a stop. Do not use the service brakes or the retarder.
