Description of Change: Certain asphalt mixes cause wear to the bottom radius of the auger chain housing. A 183-3574 Plate has been added to the housing for the chain in order to improve the quality of the housing for the chain.

Adaptable To: The change is adaptable to the following machines with serial numbers (PIN: 9DN427-UP; 5GN488-UP; PM755-UP; 9AL277-UP). On machines that have the serial numbers (PIN: 9DN1-426; 5GN1-487; 1PM1-754; 9AL1-276), wear to the housing for the chain can be eliminated. You can eliminate wear to the housing for the chain by tack welding the 183-3574 Plate to the housing. As the plate wears out, the plate can be replaced by grinding off the tack welds. After the tack welds are removed, you must clean the housing for the chain. After this is completed, you must weld a new 183-3574 Plate to the housing.
Note: When you weld on asphalt pavers, you should reference the Service Magazine, SEPD0410, 30 March 1998 for the proper welding procedure. Failure to follow this procedure may result in damage to the electrical components of the machine.
