变速箱油滤清器可以直接安装在变速箱后部。 此外，滤清器底座也可以远程安装到车辆上。 如果使用了远程滤清器选装件，滤清器底座将会通过一组软管与变速箱后部的滤清器进口和出口相连。
油从变速箱泵流过油滤清器。 这将确保在油进入系统部件前，清除其中的污染物。
旁通阀 (1) 与油滤清器平行连接。 如果油滤清器堵塞，泵和滤清器之间的压力将会升高。 压力升高后，将会打开一条经旁通阀至系统部件的流量通道。 旁通阀会带动一个开关移动，开关将会向 ECM 发送一个信号。 ECM 将会点亮驾驶室中的一个指示灯，通知操作员油滤清器堵塞。
