Installation Procedure

1. Apply Tooling (A) to both ends of push rods (7) .

2. Lubricate push rods (7) with clean engine oil. Install push rods (7) .

3. Install valve bridges (6) with the knob on top of valve bridge positioned away from the rocker shaft and the bevel end of the valve bridge positioned closest to the rocker shaft.

4. Position rocker shaft (3) . Install bolts (1) and (2) . Finger tighten bolts (1) and (2) . Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 100 ± 20 N·m (74 ± 15 lb ft). Tighten bolts (2) to a torque of 28 ± 7 N·m (21 ± 5 lb ft).

5. Apply Tooling (A) to each of the button faces of the rocker arms.

6. Adjust the valve lash of the rocker arm by turning rocker arm adjustment screws (5) . Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Engine Valve Lash - Inspect/Adjust".

End By: Install the valve mechanism cover base. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Valve Mechanism Cover Base - Remove and Install".
