Bulldozer Control Valve - Disassemble

Usage:

Disassembly Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the bulldozer control valve.

  1. Remove two bolts (1) and remove cover (2) and the gasket from the valve body.

    ------ WARNING! ------

    Plugs (3) and (8) hold spring (5) under compression. To prevent possible personal injury, use caution when the plugs are removed.

    ----------------------

  1. Remove plug (3), stem (4) and spring (5) from the valve body. Remove plug (6) from the opposite end of the valve body.

  1. Inspect the O-ring seal on plugs (3) and (6). Replace the O-ring seals, if necessary.

    ------ WARNING! ------

    Plug (7) holds spring (8) under compression. To prevent possible personal injury, use caution when the plug is removed.

    ----------------------

  1. Remove plug (7), spring (8) and valve (9) from the valve body.

  1. Inspect the O-ring seal on plug (7). Replace the O-ring seal, if necessary.

    ------ WARNING! ------

    Tilt relief valve assembly (11) holds spring (13) under compression. To prevent possible personal injury, use caution when the valve assembly is removed.

    ----------------------

  1. Remove two bolts (10), tilt relief valve assembly (11), seat (14), spring (13) and valve spool (12) from the valve body.

  1. Inspect the O-ring seal on seat (14). Replace the O-ring seal, if necessary.

  1. Remove valve (15), retainers (16), and spring (17). Remove spacers and shims (18) from housing (19) .

  1. Remove nut (20) from the opposite end of housing (19) .

  1. Inspect the O-ring seal on housing (19). Replace the O-ring seal, if necessary.

  1. Remove screw (24), nut (23), and plug (21) from housing (19), if necessary. Remove pin (22) from screw (24) .

  1. Inspect the O-ring seals on plug (21). Replace the O-ring seals, if necessary.

    ------ WARNING! ------

    Covers (26) hold springs (28) under compression. To prevent possible personal injury, use caution when the covers are removed.

  1. Remove two bolts (25) and remove cover (26) from both ends of the valve body.

  1. Remove retainer (27), spring (28), and washer (29) from both ends of the valve body.

  1. Inspect the O-ring seal (30) on both covers (26). Replace the O-ring seal, if necessary.

  1. Remove the plug and the O-ring seal from both covers (26), if necessary.

  1. Remove valve spool (31) from the control valve body.

    ------ WARNING! ------

    Lift relief valve assembly (32) holds springs (34) and (39) under compression. To prevent possible personal injury, use caution when the valve assembly is removed.

    ----------------------

  1. Remove two bolts (33) and remove lift relief valve assembly (32) from the valve body.

  1. Remove spring (34) and seat (36) from the valve body. Check the condition of O-ring seal (35) on seat (36). Replace the O-ring seal, if necessary.

  1. Remove valve (37), retainers (38) and spring (39). Remove spacers and shims (40) from housing (42) .

  1. Check the condition of O-ring seal (4) on housing (42). Replace the O-ring seal, if necessary.

  1. Remove nut (45) from housing (42) .

  1. Remove screw (44), nut (46), and plug (43) from housing (42), if necessary. Remove pin (47) from screw (44) .

  1. Inspect the O-ring seals on plug (43). Replace the O-ring seals, if necessary.

  1. Remove valve spool (48) from the valve body.

  1. Remove plug (49), spring (50) and valve (51) from the control valve body.

  1. Inspect the O-ring seal on plug (49). Replace the O-ring seal, if necessary.

    ------ WARNING! ------

    Housings (52), (53), and (54) holds springs under compression. To prevent possible personal injury, use caution when the housings are removed.

    ----------------------

  1. Remove two bolts (55) and remove the washers from both ends of the valve body. remove housings (52), (53), and (54) from the valve body.

  1. Remove stem (56) from the valve body.

  1. Check the condition of O-ring seal (57) on housing (53). Replace the O-ring seal, if necessary.

  1. Remove piston (58) and plug (60) from housing (53) .

  1. Check the condition of O-ring seal (59) on plug (60). Replace the O-ring seal, if necessary.

    Note: Housings (52) and (54) are disassembled in a similar manner. Follow steps 33 through 37 for both of the housings.

    Note: Housing (52) will have two springs (62) .

  1. Remove retainer (61), spring (62) and retainer (63) from housing (54) .

  1. Check the condition of O-ring seal (64) on housing (54). Replace the O-ring seal, if necessary.

  1. Remove plug (66) and the O-ring seal from housing (54), if necessary.

  1. Remove screws (65) and plunger (67) from housing (54) .

  1. Remove nut (68) from plunger (67) .

  1. Check the condition of O-ring seal (69) on plunger (67). Replace the O-ring seal, if necessary.

    Note: Use a 1/4 inch - 20 threaded rod to pull valve assembly (70) from the main valve body.

  1. Remove plug (72), spacer (71) and valve assembly (70) from the control valve body.

  1. Inspect the O-ring seal on plug (72). Replace the O-ring seal, if necessary.

  1. Remove O-ring seals and rings (73) from valve assembly (70) .

  1. Inspect the O-ring seals and rings. Replace the O-ring seals and replace the rings, if necessary.

  1. Remove plugs (74) and O-ring seals, if necessary.
