(2B) clamp
1. Loosen clamps (2) and (2A) and remove swivel (1) from between the turbocharger and the muffler elbows.
Typical Example
2. Remove nut and bolt (5) from the timing gear cover. This will give enough clearance to remove exhaust manifold nut.
3. Remove exhaust manifold shield (3). Note the location of each of the two spacers (4) on the mounting studs.
Typical Example
4. Remove manifold nuts (7), manifold assembly (6) and gaskets.
5. If necessary, remove the front manifold (10) and the rear manifold (9) from the center manifold (8).
Install Exhaust Manifold
Typical Example
1. If studs (1) were removed, put an application of 5P3931 Anti-Seize Compound on each end of the stud and tighten to a torque of 27 ± 4 N·m (20 ± 3 lb.ft.).
2. Put manifold gaskets (2) in position on studs.
Typical Example
3. Install the front and rear manifolds (1) and (5) in position in the center manifold (4).
4. Put manifold assembly in position and tighten nuts to a torque of 47 ± 4 N·m (35 ± 3 lb.ft.).
Typical Example
5. Install two spacers (7) and shield (6) in position on studs. Torque nuts to the above specifications. Install timing cover bolt (8).

6. Install swivel (9) in between the turbocharger and muffler elbows. Put 5P3931 Anti-Seize Compound on bolt threads of clamps (10), (10A), and (if necessary) clamp (10B). Tighten clamp (10) to a torque of 68 ± 2 N·m (50 ± 1.5 lb ft). Tighten clamp (10A) and (if necessary) clamp (10B) to a torque of 55 ± 2 N·m (40.5 ± 1.5 lb ft).
