Usage:
1. Remove oil filter (1) with tool (A).
2. Put identification on all lines, tubes and hoses for installation purposes. Disconnect oil lines (5) from the base of the oil filter bypass valves.
3. Remove oil lines (4) from the bypass valves.
4. Remove bolts (3) to remove oil filter bypass valves (2).
NOTE: The following steps are for the installation of the oil filter bypass valves and the oil filter.
5. Put oil filter bypass valves (2) in position on the engine block and install bolts (3) that hold it.
6. Install oil lines (4) on the oil filter bypass valves. Connect oil lines (5) to the oil filter bypass valves.
7. Follow the instructions on the filter for the correct installation procedure or put engine oil on the oil filter gasket and turn filter (1) 3/4 of a turn after contact with the filter base.
Disassemble Oil Filter Bypass Valves
Start By:
a. remove oil filter base
1. Remove O-ring seals (1) from base.
2. Remove bolts (2) and covers (3) for the bypass valve.
3. Remove springs (5) and plungers (4) from the base.
Assemble Oil Filter Bypass Valves
1. Install plunger (4), springs (5), gaskets (6), covers (3) and bolts (2) for the oil filter bypass valve in the oil filter base.
2. Install plunger (4), spring, gasket and cover for the oil cooler bypass valve.
3. Inspect O-ring seals (1) and make any replacements if necessary. Install seals in the oil filter base.
