Usage:
Drawings for four new fabricated tools are available. These tools are needed during disassembly and assembly of piston-type hydraulic motors. The new tools are:
- FT1532 Spanner Sprocket
- FT1549 Fixture
- FT1531 Rod
- FT1550 Rod
- FT1549 Fixture
The FT1549 Fixture (see Illustrations 1 and 2) is used to hold the motor's drive plate during removal or installation of the spanner nut which holds the bearing, or during an adjustment of preload on the bearing. The FT1532 Spanner Socket (see Illustration 1) is used with a ratchet wrench to tighten or loosen the spanner nut.

Illustration 2.
The FT1531 and FT1550 Rods (see Illustration 3) are used to remove the bearing from the drive plate. The FT1531 Rod has a 10.03 mm (.395") diameter, and the FT1550 Rod has an 8.585 mm (.3379") diameter. Two rods are needed because two sizes of holes were used in the drive plates.

Because of a change in the spanner nuts, cast slots instead of machined slots, the 5P2684 Spanner Socket will not fit the spanner nut. The FT1532 Spanner Socket is made from the 5P2684 Spanner Socket as shown in Illustration 4.

The FT1549 Fixture, FT1531 Rod and FT1550 Rod are replacements for the 5P3019 Fixture Plate Group, 5P2982 and 5P2985 Pins which are canceled. See Illustrations 5 and 6 for dimensions and instructions to fabricate these tools.
