Usage:
Start By:
a. remove timing gear cover
1. Remove nuts (1) and plate (2). Remove gear assembly (3) from the shaft.
2. If damaged, remove bearing (4) from gear assembly (3) with Tooling (A) and a press.
3. Remove three nuts (5) and the washers from the adapter assembly studs.
4. Remove adapter assembly (6) from the timing gear plate.
5. Remove shaft (7), O-ring seal (8) and sleeve (9) from the adapter assembly.
NOTE: The following steps are for the installation of the accessory drive.
6. Install sleeve (9) into the adapter assembly.
7. Install shaft (7) and O-ring seal (8) on the adapter assembly.
8. Put adapter assembly (6) in position on the timing gear plate. Fasten it with the three nuts and washers.
9. Install the bearing in gear assembly (3) with Tooling (A) and a press. Install the bearing until it is 1.5 ± 0.5 mm (.06 ± .02 in) below the surface of the gear as shown.
10. Put gear assembly (3) in position on the shaft.
11. Put plate (2) in position, and install three nuts (1) to hold it.
