Inlet & Exhaust Valves

Usage:

Remove & Install Inlet & Exhaust Valves

Start By:

a. remove cylinder head assembly

1. Use Tool (A) to compress springs (2).

2. Remove locks (1).

3. Remove Tool (A), rotocoil (3), springs (2), washer (4) and the inlet or exhaust valve from the cylinder head.

4. Use Tool (B) to check spring force. The specifications for the spring are given in the Specifications Manual.

5. Do Steps 1 through 4 again for the remainder of the inlet and exhaust valves.

NOTE: The following steps are for installation of the inlet and exhaust valves.

6. Put clean engine oil on the inlet or exhaust valve stem.

7. Install the inlet or exhaust valve, washer (4), springs (2) and rotocoil (3) in the cylinder head.

8. Use Tool (A) to compress springs (2).

9. Install locks (1) with the thick end up.

------ WARNING! ------

Locks can be thrown from the inlet or exhaust valve when compressor is released, if they are not in their correct position on valve stem.

--------WARNING!------

10. Remove the compressor and hit the inlet or exhaust valve with a soft faced hammer to be sure locks are in their correct position on the inlet or exhaust valve.

11. Do Steps 6 through 10 again for the remainder of the inlet or exhaust valves.
