NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.


  1. Clean the area around the swing motor and the swing drive. Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces of the swing motor and the swing drive.

  2. Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device to the swing motor. The weight of the swing motor is approximately 45 kg (100 lb). Place the swing motor in position on the machine.

  3. Apply Tooling (B) to the threads of bolts (14). Apply Tooling (C) to the mating surfaces of the swing drive and the swing motor. Install bolts (14). Tighten bolts (14) to a torque of 270 ± 40 N·m (199 ± 30 lb ft).

  4. Position dipstick tube (10) and loosely install bolts (13). Tighten dipstick tube (10) into the swing motor. Tighten bolts (13).

  5. Install bolt (11) and connect harness assembly (12).

  6. Connect hose assemblies (5), (6), (7), (8), and (9).

  7. Position guard assembly (4) and install bolts (3).

  8. Position guard assembly (2) and install bolts (1).

  9. Fill the swing drive with lubricant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance, "Swing Drive Oil Level - Change" and Operation and Maintenance, "Lubricant Viscosities and Refill Capacities".

  10. Check the hydraulic oil level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance, "Hydraulic System Oil Level - Check" and Operation and Maintenance, "Lubricant Viscosities and Refill Capacities".
