Shuttle Valve - Install - Auxiliary Control

Installation Procedure

Note: Before you begin the following procedure, swing the upper structure in order to gain access to the plate assembly which is located under the rear of the cab.

Note: Check the O-ring seals for wear or for damage. Replace the O-ring seals, if necessary.


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.



NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, PERJ1017, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Place shuttle valve (5) in position and install bolts (3).

  2. Install all of the fittings and connect hose assemblies (2) to the shuttle valve. The hose assemblies must be installed in the original configuration which was marked prior to disassembly.

  3. Install switch assembly (4) in the shuttle valve and connect the switch assembly to the harness assembly.

  4. Install plate assembly (1) in position under the rear of the cab.

  5. Fill the hydraulic system. Refer to Operation and Maintenance, "Hydraulic System Oil Level - Check".
