D342 INDUSTRIAL ENGINE ATTACHMENTS Caterpillar

1. Remove auxiliary drive guard (1).

2. Disconnect wires (3), remove bolt (2) and washers, remove nut (4) and remove drive belts (6) from pulley.

3. Remove bolt, spacer (5) and alternator.

Install Alternator

1. Put the alternator (1) in position on bracket and install bolt (3) and spacer (2).

2. Install nut (4), drive belts (5), bolt and washers.

3. Make adjustment of belt deflection (movement) to 7/8" (22 mm) under 25 lb. (11.5 kg) force half way between pulleys.

4. Connect wires to alternator. Install guard for auxiliary drive.
