Rotation is counterclockwise at half engine speed when seen from drive end.

(1) 4L1648 Spring for overspeed trip (900 to 1100 rpm engines):

Test force ... 1.12 to 1.24 lb.(0.51 to 0.56 kg)

Free length after test ... 1.172 in.(29.77 mm)

(1) 7L5723 Spring for overspeed trip (1200 rpm engines):

Length under test force ... .90 in.(22.9 mm)

Test force ... 2.63 lb.(1.19 kg)

Free length after test ... 1.381 in.(33.48 mm)

Outside diameter ... .406 in.(10.31 mm)

(1) 2L8705 Spring for overspeed trip (1300 to 1400 rpm engines):

Length under test force ... .969 in.(24.61 mm)

Test force ... 2.11 ± .21 lb.(0.96 ± 0.10 kg)

(2) 7L2116 Spring for release rod:

NOTE: The control is to activate at a speed 18% higher than full load rpm. One turn of weight adjustment screw will change the speed setting 45 to 50 rpm.
