Belt Tightener

Usage:

Remove Belt Tightener

1. Remove two nuts (1) and guard (3). Turn the screw (2) in a counterclockwise direction to loosen the fan belts.

2. Remove fan belts from the pulley.

3. Remove the belt tightener (4).

Install Belt Tightener

1. Put belt tightener (2) in position on studs (1).

2. Install fan belts (3) on pulley. Install the guard and nuts.

3. Make adjustment of belt deflection (movement) to 7/8" (22 mm) under 25 lb. (11.5 kg) force half way between pulleys.

Disassemble Belt Tightener

start by:

a) remove belt tightener

1. Remove cover (1) from pulley.

2. Remove the two bolts (3), lock and washer (2) that hold bearings on shaft.

3. Use tool (A) to remove pulley (4) from shaft.

4. Remove bearings (5) and (8), then snap rings (6) and (7), from pulley (4).

5. Remove shield (9) from the shaft.

Assemble Belt Tightener

1. Install shield (2) on the shaft (1).

2. Install snap rings (4) and (5), then bearings (3) and (6) in the pulley.

3. Install pulley assembly (8) on shaft.

4. Install the washer (9), lock, and bolts (7).

5. Install the cover.
