New C175 High Altitude Low Maintenance Ratio Engine for 797 Off-Highway Trucks {1000}

Usage:

797F LAJ
Off-Highway Truck/Tractor
797F (S/N: LAJ1-UP)

Description Of Change: Cat® C175-20 Low Maintenance Ratio (LMR) engine for use in high altitude arrangement 797 Off-Highway Trucks. C175-20 LMR engines are designed to reduce maintenance cost and improve reliability and durability.

Adaptable To: The new engine is equipped with the Cat® Enhanced Engine Oil Filtration system that includes a Self-Cleaning Filter (SCF) and a Centrifugal Oil Filter (COF). This system eliminates conventional oil filter replacement and provides the potential to extend engine oil change intervals.

The four by four high altitude system consists of four low-pressure turbochargers feeding four high-pressure turbochargers. This system replaces the previous four by two high altitude system that consisted of four low-pressure turbochargers feeding two high-pressure turbochargers.

The new air system reduces the installed height on the engine. The new air system improves serviceability, durability, and lowers owning and operating costs over the lifetime of the engine.

Note: The 4X4 High altitude LMR Engine went effective with any high altitude build LAJ00660-Up.

Table 2
Feature  Benefits  Customer Value
Low Maintenance Ratio Engines  Reduced equipment downtime/ increased durability  Maximized uptime and revenue generating potential
Replaces cartridge oil filters with self cleaning filter (SCF) Eliminates labor, filter cost, and filter disposal cost during oil filter change
Reduced soot and contaminant levels in the oil Provides opportunity to extend oil change intervals based on S.O.SSM oil analysis and potential for improved engine durability
Eliminates oil filter changes Reduced risk of contaminant exposure to lubrication system
Aftermarket kits available for your fleet to upgrade current engines Fleet standardization allows common maintenance practice by machine model
Four by Four High Altitude System  Engine weight reduction compared to previous high altitude arrangement  Increased efficiency and productivity
Reduction in total installed height through improved packaging and structural design Reduced vibration levels resulting increased durability and component life
Fewer total parts per engine compared to previous high altitude arrangement Lower engine rebuild cost compared to equivalent previous high altitude arrangement
Table 3 contains the required lifting group and the associated part numbers for safely lifting the engine.
